Zimbabwe immigrant, Lincoln Chaknetsa (L) and resident of one of the cities most notorious 'dark buildings' outside the main entrance of the building in downtown, Johannesburg, South Africa, 12 August 2015. The eleven story block of flats, formally owned by Chinese business owners, has had no power, lights, water or sanitation for eight years and is a massive health risk. The entire lift shaft is piled up with litter, human waste and urine. The building is home to homeless people, migrants, drug dealers and street workers. It serves as a continuos home for hundreds and a half way house for those immigrants arriving in South Africa and needing a first room to stay in.
