World's funniest Harith Iskander meets Sultan of Johor
Johor-born comedian, Harith Iskander, who was crowned the Funniest Person in the World by the US-based comedy club chain -Laugh Factory- last week, was granted a special audience by Sultan Ibrahim.
Johor-born comedian, Harith Iskander who was crowned the ‘Funniest Person in the World’ by 'Laugh Factory', the United States-based comedy club chain, was granted a special audience by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar Istana Pasir Pelangi here today.
Harith, who hosted Astro's talk show, Obviously Harith Iskander (OHI), was accompanied by his wife Jezamine Lim, showed off the trophy he was awarded at the competition in Finland on Dec 8.
Also present at the meeting was Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail.
Harith beat 88 comedians from around the world in the competition.
Besides the trophy and USD100,000 (approximately RM448,000), Harith also received the opportunity to perform in a series of shows in the United States.
The funny man has credited his success to the support shown by his fans in Malaysia, especially from his home-state of Johor where he has a huge “Bangsa Johor” following.
Harith has said he will focus efforts on using his brand of comedy as a means to further unite Malaysians of all races.
